AeroTrail for iPhone and iPad
Privacy policy
AeroTrail is designed to keep your planning data under your control. This policy explains what the app and this website process, why they process it, and the choices available to you.
Effective July 23, 2026
Who operates AeroTrail
AeroTrail is a product of Bountiful Apps. In this policy, “AeroTrail,” “we,” and “us” refer to that product and its operator.
Data you create in the app
AeroTrail stores the planning information you choose to enter, which can include trip names and dates, airports and place-based destinations, route legs, stop settings, notes, aircraft profiles and performance assumptions, airport preferences, and app preferences.
This information is stored on your device. When iCloud is available for AeroTrail, Apple’s private CloudKit service can synchronize supported app data across devices signed in to your iCloud account. Apple processes iCloud data under its own terms and privacy policy.
Apple maps and place search
The bundled airport database supports offline airport lookup. When you search for a place or nearby point of interest, AeroTrail uses Apple MapKit services. Search text, map region, and relevant coordinates may be sent to Apple to return those results. Map and location data stays dedicated to the planning features you request.
Optional CalendarHub connection
CalendarHub is optional. If you connect it, authentication happens through CalendarHub’s hosted sign-in flow, keeping password handling within CalendarHub. The app receives connection information such as your CalendarHub user and household identifiers, account name and email, device identity, app version, and an access token. The token and saved connection are stored in the iOS Keychain.
If you enable CalendarHub sync for a trip, AeroTrail sends the selected trip’s calendar projection to CalendarHub. That can include trip title, dates and timing, airport or place labels, route and leg details, notes, and relevant location coordinates. You control sync for each trip and can manage the saved connection in AeroTrail Settings.
Privacy by design
- AeroTrail provides an ad-free, privacy-focused experience.
- AeroTrail’s business model centers on the product and keeping personal information private.
- Core planning works directly with your device and iCloud settings.
- This website keeps a simple, first-party footprint for content delivery and security.
Like most websites, the hosting infrastructure may process standard request information such as IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamps, and security logs to deliver and protect the service.
Your controls and deletion
- Manage and remove individual trips or aircraft profiles directly in the app.
- Manage AeroTrail’s iCloud data and device access through Apple’s iCloud settings.
- Choose CalendarHub sync per trip, and manage or end the saved connection in AeroTrail Settings.
- Manage connected CalendarHub devices from the link provided in AeroTrail Settings.
Data retained by Apple or CalendarHub is also subject to those services’ retention, recovery, and account-deletion controls.
Children, security, and changes
AeroTrail is intended for general aviation pilots age 13 and older. We use platform security features including Apple’s Keychain and private CloudKit storage where applicable, and we continue to apply platform security practices as they evolve.
We may update this policy as AeroTrail changes. The effective date above will be revised when the policy changes materially.
